I dont know exactly. But you may bundle the image into an object(like an string message encoded in a object) and transfer it

Catherine, I sent a private message to the chatty poster. Most of us don't act like that. I apologize for the members.
You have a number of options, but the most flexible is to use TCP/IP sockets. Unfortunately, that is a fairly advanced topic. Sun's Java Tutorial has the basics...
Essentially, you would have to write code to communicate between the client and the server. The client would tell the server it was sending a file, its type, name, and length; the server would acknowledge; the client would send the raw data; the server would store it and acknowledge.
