Post Help: Deploying the project with database

Hi, I am vishnu kumar. I knew the basics of Java but this is the first time i am building a project based on java (Java Swing actually). This is my final semester project and for last two months, i am doing my project.

I initially thought the database(along with tables created) will be deployed in .jar file. But recently only i found it doesn't

I am using Netbeans 7.1.1 and mysql database for my project. Can someone please tell me, how i can deploy my desktop application along with the already created tables to generate results for users who will use the software(project) in their system?

    Thanks,

off course, i will reveal my project details if needed. Nothing secret afterall, its a cricket project :)

Somebody asked a very similar question recently.
    Autostart jar and database

Does that help or is your problem totally different?

MySQL won't be deployed with your app, unless you have some good deployer set up.
So where you think the database is going to go I don't know.
The server will have to exist on the target machine already, and you'd then have a scripts for setting it up.
Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.

At worst case, It doesn't matter even if data are carried or not. I need the script (like create table statements) to be executed at target machine even if that machine doesn't have mysql installed.

Would you like that script to be executed even if the target machine doesn't have an OS installed, too?

You would need to ask that in a MySQL forum. This one's for NetBeans.

And is it really too much trouble to use uppercase letters where the rules of the language require them? Or to spell a three letter word with three letters instead of one?

    Sorry.

Thanks all for replies. After lot of reading, i finally came to conclusion that mysql can't be ported atleast in my project. So, i went ahead and read further about embedded database. Now i am confusion to choose between sqlite and Derby database for my project.

I will start a new thread to make it more relevant.

Thanks again for taking your time to reply me.
