    How did you set the string in the app in the first place?

    When i opened Netbeans i went to the file menu and chose New project then java desktop application, after doing some Next from the Choose Application Shell: i chose database application, from there it asked me to choose a database connection and at that time i created the database connection and clicked finish.

    Oh.
    I'll add that to my list of "reasons not to let the IDE do everything for me".
    I expect there's a properties file somewhere in the project that holds that data...where, I have no idea.

    Then what you recommend, how to solve this, the project i have been developing is now become a hug project and i cant develop it again, therefore i must find a way so that my applicatoin should has a login screen to login with different database users not a prefixed user (root).

    I'd check the Netbeans help.
    Or simply do a search for the database connection string.
    Has it hidden the connection creation code as well?

    I searched a lot on this issue and i have posted it on forums.netbeans.org as well but couldn't find any reply. The point is that i can't find the database connection string or coding anywhere so don't know if it is hided or what.

    It must have generated the JDBC somewhere.
    Find all uses of getConnection().
