Where has the GUI gone?
I am using NetBeans 7.0.1, and my GUI form builder/editor seems to have disappeared. If I right-click on the project and select the new option, the only options that I am given are to create a new class, package or interface. Its the same story if I click on a package. There is an 'other' option but none of the options are applicable.
Why have I not got new options to create a new JFrame, or JPanel? And why is it that when I open up my existing classes that were created with the GUI builder, there is no protection on the auto-generated code, and no editor.
I must be doing something wrong, someone please help!
I am wondering if some screen captures would help. You can see here that there is no option for a new form - no JFrame or JPanel.
The 'Other' option (see above capture) is no help either.
This is an event handler which was previously auto-generated code. Although the comments remain from the code generator, there is no protection of the code against editing.
Well someone has given me a clue (outside of this forum). Is it about enabling the SE module? And how do I do that?
I feel like I am talking to myself here :D:
SE module? I haven't heard such thing related to NetBeans before. Did you search the Google?
By the way have you update the NetBeasns recently?
I tried searching Google but it didn't bring back anything useful.
The problem is now solved though. You have to ensure that the plugin called 'GUI Builder' is enabled.
It must be enabled by default with NetBeans. When I check on my plug-in list looks like that. Did you disable it manually?
