NetBeans to Eclipse
I have developed an application in NetBeans. It also includes GUI screens designed in NetBeans. I want to move that project to Eclipse and want to do development in Eclipse.

Is this possible???

Thanks a lot. So its not as simple as copying the classes or importing the classes.

No, it isn't - I tried Eclipse and Netbeans in parallel quite long. The GUI designer (VEP) in Eclipse is very bad in my opinion - one of the reasons why I decided to go with NetBeans.

VEP? I have never met a person who actually uses that crap to write GUI code. GUI Designers create disgusting code, it is so difficult to work with it. Might as well learn swing and actually create something manageable.

I heard a lot of similar statements but I think the Netbeans Matisse creates quite nice code. At least the version 5.5.1 did - now I look at 6.0 and I have seen in the options that you can either adjust the Matisse code creator in 6.0.

As I designed GUI for over 10 years now in Visual Basic without problems I cannot really accept to fall back in the stone age of GUI development.

lol Stone Age? hehe
Code:
frame.setVisible(true);
oh my!? :P

IMO the only way to get any kind of control over a GUI is if you really know what is going on in the background. I dont think that Netbeans Matisse can create transperent objects, drop shadows and any kind of actual effects which are pretty much needed in modern programming.
