    Default unable to log in using oracle10g

    My database is already connected, and i am running a simple log in code. However, it doesn't work.

    the code is like if (txtName.getText().equals(oc.select("SELECT student_name FROM student_list WHERE student_number='"+txtNum.getText()+"'").toString() )), but thats only part of it since it has other conditions.

    When i run that query on oracle 10g, i get the result that i want, the respective student name for the inputted txtNum. However, i cant log in on netbeans. when i try printing the output of that query, it shows oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleResultSetImpl@1b1aa65. What can be the reason?

    Um.
    How are you orinting out the result?
    Because what you showed there is the output from resultset.toString(), or a call like:
    Java Code:
    System.out.println(resultset);
    Is the return value of oc.select (whatever that may be) a ResultSet?
