does gui coding in netbeans is just the same with coding without nebeans?

Hello guys!
Im new here.Hope you guys will help me with this one.Ok, here it goes.
I've learned Java programming, and know and understands how to code/program in java but not much though. Now I have a project that uses netbeans. My project is , developing something like, computer/cyber cafe log , where students/users, will log in and out with the program I do, and it will also have the ability to calculate payments .So now, I have design an interface, I have a text box, checkbox, and radio button, but I don't have a clue how to code with it. does it work the same as , if I use Scanner to scan input messages for the text box?

Java is Java, in other words all Java programs have to obey Java syntax rules, but in general GUI programming is different from console programming, and so no, you won't be using a Scanner. For one thing GUI programs are event-driven while console programs are usually much more linear (usually). So you're probably going to want to study the Swing tutorials to help you understand it better.

I also have learned the swing thing. where we use gui right, where got, import javax.swing.JOptionPane; something like that right.

I have also learn some with guis.where a window will popup

but what I don't understand is, when I need to deal with netbeans.

I have drag a textbox. and double click on it. now it shows on the design section. what should I code if I want that textbox to receive input .?
