    Wink classNotFoundException

    hello i am doing a simple exercise in netbeans that is connecting to the database and reading the values from the textbox and then updating the database ..but i am getting a ClassNotFoundException which states itself like "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver"

    That error means that nowhere on your classpath a class named org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver could be found by the JVM. Fix your classpath.

    If you don't know how to set a classpath how on earth do you want to implement something with JDBC and Swing? Please read the relevant sections in the Sun Java Tutorial first; it pays back.

    It could be a problem with setting up the IDE.

    If you have upgraded your IDE lately then it is very likely that the jar files linked in the library are broken. The derby is now included in the glassfish/javadb (so change your jar links in NetBeans library setup).
