Default I am making a Netbeans plugin How do I capture the squiggles in the editor so I can a

I would like to log all of the errors I make and when people hit run it doesn't always show them in the output window or I would just use them. Is there a better way to get the errors besides using the squiggles?

You mean log the errors in your Java application? If so use log4j package. It's really easy to use, advanced with lots of features.

I want to log the build errors in netbeans. I got the errors to log when someone hits build but sometimes when they hit run another popup shows up and tells then there are errors do you still want to run the project. When this happens the errors do not get logged. So I am trying to just log the squiggles as they happen and not wait until build is hit.

I may be mistaken but it looks like log4j logs the errors as the application is running.

I'm not sure I understand you fully, but it's my understanding that the squiggles mean that the code isn't compiling. You want to log this? How? Why?

The squiggles mean there is an error or warning in the code. I want to log the errors and warnings in the code. I need help with how. It will provide data so it can be analyzed and maybe it will be able to provide pointers for teaches on how to help the students more. I need the squiggles because the build process doesn't always output the errors when the user hits the run button and not the build button unless there is another way around it.
