In what contest are you comparing that? I'm not experienced such a thing over the years on NetBeans. Did you check that how much memory consume NetBeans when it run?

Netbeans drives me nuts, I will fully prototype a project in a plain editor, then build it in Netbeans due to it's comprehension of the whole picture.
After building in Netbeans, I go to a complete shutdown of the system and use coffee for five or ten minutes to 'get over it'....Introduction to Programming Using Java.

Is it? I didn't feel anything lol. My laptop runs with 2GB of ram and normally NetBeans use around 100 KB, but the JDK use around 200 MB. Running smoothly.
