Java Developer II
Washington, DC
Security Clearance Eligibility: US Citizen or Permanent Resident who is eligible to obtain a Government clearance

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Developing Java-based applications and modifying existing Java-based applications.
• Supporting and maintaining some non-Java and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
• Participating in the full development life cycle including requirements analysis & documentation, design, development, testing and deployment of Java -based applications and Web sites.
• Assisting in creation and execution of project plans.
• Analyzing user requirements and translating them into written technical specifications.
• Participating in code reviews to ensure applications support existing architecture and follow the defined framework guidelines and coding standards.
• Hands-on software development which satisfies project requirements and achieves a high level of quality and end-user satisfaction.
• Developing creative solutions and functional prototypes to demonstrate proof of concepts and to enable rapid iterative testing of design ideas.
• Working collaboratively with other developers.
Qualifications:
• 0 to 4 years of experience as a software developer is required.
• Experience developing Java applications for Sun servers and Oracle databases is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is required.
• Candidate should be familiar with Java, J2EE, Servlets/JSPs, Sun’s JDK, Eclipse, Struts, Swing, EJB 3.0, JDBC, XML and XSL
• Experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Discoverer, PL/SQL and Global 360 Imaging desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to work effectively with project managers and team members to provide support as both an independent operator and team player.
• Must be professional and be comfortable attending meetings with the CIO and Assistant CIOs.
