    Post Join MotherBoard Games™ (MBG)

    Hi,
my name is Matthew Newbury, and I am the founder of MotherBoard Games™. MBG is a community of developers, programmers, graphical artists, and dedicated individuals devoted to game development. We are currently working on a very large project and are looking for other like minded individuals to come join us. All MBG positions are voluntary and no monetary compensation will be given to individuals holding those positions. If an MBG released game makes it big and generates revenue then dues will be offered where dues are deserved. So if you are a programmer looking for your next project, or your an artist looking for an application of your talents then I would urge you to come join the MotherBoard Games™ team!
    ~Matthew Newbury

If your interested in joining drop me an email at: mpmn5891@gmail.com and we will talk in further detail.

This is not really a job offer, is it?

Haha, right, good luck. So you want programmers and artists to do all the work, then pay them however much you deem they "deserve" only if a game "makes it big"? What's in it for the developers or artists?

This is almost as offensive as the "if you do this for free, you'll have a nice addition to your portfolio!" nonsense that we hear all too often.

You miss understand the offer. MBG is a community of volunteers, or game making enthusiasts if you will. I was only making 100% clear that there is no money involved, but that if a game makes money that it would be divided among the people who actually worked on the project. Making money isn't our goal in the first place, it is to make quality games just because we enjoy making them. To let you know I am one of the lead programmers at MBG, and I do it for no money or compensation. It is fun, and I enjoy seeing the project come together. I was simply bringing awareness to the community.

I fear that MBG is currently a community of one, but why not instead start a GNU General Public License collaboration on SourceForge.net? That way any and all can join in if they find your project interesting.

Or at the very least, a website? I could be interested in something like that, but with no other information freely available (making people email you is not making it freely available), I have to assume that there isn't much to gain from joining your "community".
