My client is an engineering-driven technology company, constantly taking on new challenges in the world of terabytes. Together with a partner company they are shifting gears to revolutionize the storage industry: by combining intelligent storage devices with their novel P2P software, they are building a storage cloud consisting of millions of distributed devices.

For the opportunity to join my clients development team and take the company to the next level you have the following:

Responsibilities:
- Dive into the code-base (mostly Java) and take ownership of integral parts of the company
- Design, test and implement new features
- Analyze and optimize efficiency, scalability, and stability
- Conduct design and code reviews, bring in own ideas
- Examples of possible work areas are
--architecture and ownership on an embedded device (e.g. NAS)
--build a large-scale key-value pair backend database
--design and implement new features according to user needs
--improve the companies network and communication protocols

Requirements:
- MA or experienced BA in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Extensive experience in object oriented design
- Ability to read and comprehend source code quickly
- Extensive programming experience in Java, familiarity with the J2SE core libraries
- Excellent analytical abilities and a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
- Ability to work self-reliantly within a team and track record of getting things done
- Experience with file systems , distributed systems, or server architectures
- Fluent in German and English
