Java DB, MySQL and MySQL Connector/J
Dear Friends,
I am confused about the above subject. I already have an Eclipse IDE installed on my computer but I bought this book "Java How to Program" and there are some issues raised before using the book like downloading Java DB, MySQL and MySQL Connector/J for me to be able to use JDBC to interact with MySQL. My question is that "is it compulsory that I install all this packages or they come by default with Eclipse IDE to be able to use JDBC".
I look forward to reading from you soonest.
Thanks.
Jimi

Re: Java DB, MySQL and MySQL Connector/J
Nothing at all to do with Networking. Moving to JDBC.

Re: Java DB, MySQL and MySQL Connector/J
You can use JavaDB (not 'Java DB') aka Derby without downloading anything extra; it comes clubbed with the JDK. For other databases like MySQL etc. consult the home page for the product where you will usually find adequate details regarding its use.
