    Default passing resulset object to client in rmi

    hi'
    how tow to pass a ResultSet object from server to client in rmi.
    when i am simply passing the resultset object it gives error that resultset is not serialized.
    can anybody help me out by providing te code to resolve this.

    Because ResultSet is not serialisable. A ResultSet uses/has an active connection to the DB and you can't exactly serialise a network connection. If the resultsets are guaranteed to be small, then read them out into a list and send that. If not, then you need to read and pass row by row (or value by value) as it is asked for (with next etc) and you need to then pass your own designed ResultSet object (that does implement Serialisable, of course) that handles these rmi requests.
