    Default Help me connecting java and oracle

    Can anybody explain me these classes and methods?
    DriverManager.registerDriver
    (new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    conn = java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:oracle:thin:username/password@machine.us.company.com:1234:dbSID");

    I believe its called "Thinking In Java" Bruce Eckel. It is, BTW, the only one (that's worth anything) that you can legally get for free, and then only the one that is one revision behind the current print version.

    Java Black Book is also a nice one imo.
    Got it a while ago and helped my out alot while programming ;)
