    Default Hibernate doubt

could anyone help me about the following problem:
Hibernate can help us access the database by using the oriented object thinking, but if I want to access an existing remote database which doesn't have a JDBC driver ,how can I do?
    thanks!

Hibernate is simply java-based middleware which allows you to map a relational database to objects. You still need to connect to a database either through a JDBC driver or if your database exists in an application server, you can use JNDI.
