    hi,

    i have a list box for departments, when i select a dept it should check with DB and get the employees working in that dept in another Listbox without refreshing the page..in JSP

    i need the code for this in JSP, i'm a fresher plz help me out..

    Look up AJAX.
    You'll be writing Javascript that utilises an Ajax library to make calls to the server (a servlet).
    That servlet wil respond with the list to populate the other drop down.
    That response will probably be something like a JSON string.

    So that should be enough buzzwords to Google with.

    hi,
    i have done this coding and its working but the problem is the value selected is reset after form submit,

    i want to retain the selected text..

    plz help me out..
