So what's supposed to happen when you click the datepicker component? Can we see some code?

Generally speaking a JSP cannot break crash a browser. My money is on the javascript.

the calendar icon is coded as a web ui tag. It has its own scripts for opening the calendar, selecting the date, moving the months ahead and behind and so on. Nothing has been coded for this calendar icon, except the tag definition in the JSP. Also, it works in all other IE versions except the one i mentioned.

This is a Javascript issue and IE fails on relying Javascript specifications like many other issues.
My one and only advice is to find another calender component which is tested and proved to be browser compatible.

I am using sun's web ui tag which should be all browser compatible. Don't understand why its failing on only one version.
