The Avis client library is a Java API for clients accessing Elvin event routers, including the open source Avis event router and the commercial Mantara Elvin product. It fulfills the same role as Mantara's "je4" library, but is a more modern Java 5 API.

There are still some features missing, including auto reconnect, keepalive, and router notifications on connect/disconnect.
