Z1 Backbone Of Trust CertServer is a server-based software solution for the storage and administration of X.509 certificates and OpenPGP keys. It targets customers who use a public key infrastructure (based on X.509 or OpenPGP) and who want to take advantage of the central access to certificates. In addition, the Z1 Backbone Of Trust CertServer automatically validates the certificates. Therefore, it queries certificate revocation lists (CRLs) from the issuing trustcenters or uses their verification service over OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol). The Z1 Backbone Client SDK is available as a Java library and as a C/C++ library. These libraries integrate simply into modern e-business applications. Communication between Z1 Backbone Of Trust Client and Z1 Backbone Of Trust CertServer is made by SOAP calls over secured HTTPS. Evaluation packages for Debian and Solaris are available for download.

Changes

This major release contains several updates and fixes. It introduces the new feature "z1-ldapinterface", which provides an LDAP interface to Z1 Backbone CertServer. The interface works as a separate process and provides a fully featured LDAP service, which delegates all requests for X.509 certificates and OpenPGP keys to the CertServer. The Certificate Search page has been improved. Now the filter is split into a simple and an advanced filter.
