H2 is an SQL database engine written in Java that implements the JDBC API. Embedded, server, and clustering modes are available. A browser based console application is included. The database has strong security features. Disk based and in-memory databases and tables are supported.

Changes

Key values can now be changed in updatable result sets. The comment of a domain (user defined data type) is now used. Invalid database names are now detected. The Oracle mode was fixed with regard to unique indexes and NULL. There is a problem with Hibernate when using Boolean columns, and a bug report has been submitted. In H2 Console, the progress display when opening a database has been improved.
