Default How does servlet container use compiled JSP to process request

I'm searching for servlet operations and i saw that:
When a JSP is requested for the first time or when the webapp starts up, the servlet container will compile it into a class extending HttpServlet and use it during the webapp's lifetime. On a JSP request, the servletcontainer will execute the compiled JSP class and send the generated output (usually just HTML/CSS/JS) through the webserver over network to the client side which in turn displays it in the webbrowser.
I don't undestand that if servlet container use the compiled JSP class to handle request then what about the Servlet classes i've written before? What are they use for? Please help me

They are used when the client request is to a servlet.

The basic structure is client -> servlet -> forwards to -> JSP -> response to client.

Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.
