    Exclamation HTTP Status 500 -

    I am passing values from a form in jsp to a servlet but it shows the following error It is not entering in the servlet code.
    HTTP Status 500 -

    Can anybody help me solve this problem.
    when i change the .dat file ,this happen appear.

    also, look in the log file on the server. e.g. catalina.out should have the line number in the Java code that was generated from the JSP. This .java file will exist in the work/Catalina/localhost/YOURWEBAPP/org/apache/jsp... folder inside the tomcat base folder. If you are able to view that file it might provide a hint as to what line in the JSP is producing the null pointer.
