    Default Unable to Run Servlet

    Hai All,

    I have written and successfully compiled my servlet program which actually processes data from a HTML form and saves them in the database.

    Problem is that when i run the HTML form and click the SAVE button..m getting a message as "ActionPrg(my servlet class file) is not found".

    For Your Info:

    my java file is in directory: C:\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\IPC\ActionProg.java
    my class file is in directory: C:\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\IPC\WEB-INF\Classes\ActionPrg.class

    i have linked the HTML form to this java file as:
    <form name="frm" action="/WEB-INF/Classes/ActionPrg" method="post">

    Thanks in Advance,
    rama

    Hai Ya'll,...WEB-INF should not be in a URI string.

    The system insists on doing all access to that folder in a manner that cannot be called from a uri / url

    Read the documentation for your web container to find out how to configure the web.xml file and set up your servlet mappings.

    Really, there's no need, though. Every thing he needs, he has. Tomcat comes with all of the documentation readily available (as well example applications and some tutorial type information) already installed. He needs simply to start tomcat and connect to localhost:8080 and he has everything he needs. If he can't get it to start, he can go to the tomcat pages (he knows where they are since he downloaded it) and view the same documentation there.
