    Default getting first java job, qualifications?

    Hey guess, i need some serious advice.

    would it be possible to get into the industry with the folling qualifications


    Object-oriented programming with Java (M255)
    Putting Java to work (M257) **
    Software development with Java (M256)
    SCJP
    XML master
    Teaching myself java so that i can eventually join the industry! Started in June 2010

    Qualifications should be more generic.

    You must have a better understanding of object oriented concept, not only relevant to Java. Actually you cannot understand the concepts stick with a language.

    Your next two points comes together, how you can apply you knowledge is matter of how far you know the subject. That's the most important point. It give an impression looking at your prior work, so you should have a list of project involves.

    XML, XSLT and stuff are additional resources. Actually those things don't have higher value at the time of your evaluations. So as your certifications. Different employers look into that in different angles.
