Applet tabbing issue

I am helping test and appplication written offshore. This application has an applet in it. The tabbing is supposed to go down one column then start at the top of the second column and go down it, and so on. It works fine in Firefox, it works ok in some IE6 browsers but in other IE6 browsers the tab totally leaves the applet and starts tabbing thru the icons on the screen outside the applet. The machines all have the same jre, or so I am told. Anyone ever see anything like this? If they find the cause I will post it.

I wonder how it looks like. Can you paste some screenshots?

I guess it is a bug which needed to be fixed.

I am afraid I cannot attach a screen shot since it is not my application. I am just doing testing. It has us all baffled though. I was just wondering if anyone had run across this before. My opinion is to steer clear of applets and maybe look at Flex as a replacement. But, I am getting a lukewarm reception to that idea. Oh well, c'est la vie.
