Default "application blocked by security settings" after Java SE 7 update 51

    Hi,

I'm newbie in this forums, and my english is not very fluent. I expect I can manage to make me understand.

My problem is with an applet that works fine with the previous installations of the Java 7 SE. It has only a warning about mixed code that was resolved with some new field in the MANIFEST.MF file.

After the update of the Java SE we have several clients with the message "application blocked by security settings" while loading the applet. Surprisingly this only occurs in Internet Explorer 10 or previous versions. It works fine in IE 11, Chrome or Firefox.

All the literature we have found tell us about decreasing the security level of Java from high to medium. This works, but we need to know what can we do or change in the applet to avoid this missage.

It is curious that the last version of IE this issue don't occur. Maybe a navigator problem corrected in this version?

    Does anybody can help me?

    I am desperated !!

It would be VERY useless if you could lower the security level from the applet. Think about it: why is that security level even there? To help guard against malicious applets. What you want is like putting locks on you door and then hanging a spare key outside because otherwise it is such a bother to get in if you lock yourself out.

I wonder what exactly is generating that error. Is it the browser or the Java plugin itself? I would find it strange that it is the plugin because I expect the plugin to be the same for all IE versions. Unless in the older browsers you somehow have the legacy plugin activated.

That is exactly the reason why we need another solution. I find inadmissible to lower security, but it's the only solution we have found.

On the other side, the error is showed by the applet. This is why this issue is so strange. The applet is the same for all the versions of Explorer but, somehow, in version 11 works fine.
