Student Help

I am having a problem. I need to make an applet that will make a ball spiral, starting from the center of the applet, and run untill it hits the edge of the specified applet. I know all of the code, but i am having trouble getting the ball to move in the spirial like i need it to. can anyone help? any suggestions would be appreciated.
