Right click and context menu on MacOS

Well, my Java Plugin is the latest version, but I am still using the latest update to Snow Leopard (and not Lion). But then I do want my applet to work on both Snow Leopard AND Lion correctly, so it becomes difficult to check every option myself. Does anyone with Lion see this odd behavior in my example applet above? Others with Snow Leopard?

I am surprised this issue is not mentioned very clearly on the web yet. Either it is somewhat localized (and there is an easy fix for it), or people are just not using Java applets that have menus and JComboBoxes in them as much these days.

Is anyone else seeing what I am seeing?

I've just started looking at similar behavior in our product - e.g. r-click to bring up context menu brings up File menu instead - have you resolved your menu issue yet?

Yes, I agree with you that I don't understand why it would be a problem to post to my thread. I have been hoping someone would reply to my thread with some ideas. And I had some trouble finding this post since it was no longer on my thread. I would never have known you posted it, if you had not posted to my thread also.

Anyway, as you may have guessed, I have not yet found a true solution to this menu issue on Firefox on macs.

I have found a workaround, but it has its own disadvantages. I have created a version of my applet that runs in its own window. Somehow this allows that menus, drop-downs, and scrollbars to work correctly. But ideally I would much prefer my applet to work as it should in the browser itself, as it has worked for years. By the way, I did post on this solution in another thread: opening applet in seperate window vs in the page.

If you find a solution, please let me know!
