    If you're forever cleaning cobwebs, it's time to get rid of the spiders.

    You might get better help if you remove all the unused stuff from your code. And I don't mean only the commented out lines; there are variables that are assigned and never used.

    Why should a volunteer have to wade through all that to discover what you've done wrong?

    In the snippet quoted,
    • Where is tr used?
    • Where is img used?
    • where is img1 used?

    And why is img1 being loaded each time through the loop?

    img used in this code
    _deck[cardPosition++] = new ShowCard(img, _initX++, _initY++); Its for showing cards when I am drawimage in paint(Graphics g), when I remove it nothing is display on the applet.

    ok I have removed this line tr = new MediaTracker(this);

    and img1 used in paint method to draw back card as required.
    Line is g.drawImage(img1,x2[j],y2[j], this);

    after this correction I have run my applet , but again not showing first time and It's hanging.

    Have you read the API doc for the getImage() method?
    Perhaps you should use a different method for getting the images. One that waits until the image is loaded before returning.
    If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.

    How do you maximize an applet's window? How are you executing the applet? From an HTML page with an <APPLET tag or ? I don't understand how you open and close the window. Please explain.

    Where is the applet hanging? Is there an error message in the browser's java console?
    Add lots of println statements to the code to show where it executes so you can see at what statement the code is "Hanging".

    Please add some printlns to the applet that shows where it is executing and then execute it. Copy the contents of the browser's java console and paste it here. The print outs will show where the applet has executed.
