iam unable to run applets in jedit in mac......

hii...
iam using mac n iam dng programs of java in jedit and compiling in terminal.
the normal programs are getting executed but iam unable to run the applets!!!!iam compiling it using "javac filename.java" n running it by "appletviewer filename.java"..but iam not getting the window to be displayed......
plzzzz help me.
