Default Java Stand Alone Program to decompress files zip, rar etc

    Hello,

I looking for an applet that can decompress compressed files, specifically rar. I found one applet at sourceforge but it didn't work. Spent countless time googling for one, but just a lot of misdirects.

Does anyone know of one, or maybe website(s) that has a list of java applets. I found one site but there weren't many utility jars there.

    Thanks

Thanks for the link, but it seems they never resolved the problem and additionally they were talking code.

I'm hoping to find a completed program. More specifically, a stand alone program.

I do most of my work on a computer that is completely locked down. It only runs an internet browser (firefox and IE). Can't install any software whatsoever, however it will allow stand alone java programs to run on the java platform.

Any suggestions on the program and/or websites that list off available java programs. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again.

You'll likely have better luck solving this with Google then this forum, and it's not really the thrust of this forum. Rather, we'll be more than happy to help you with problems you are having with your Java program that you've created.

    Okay,

    Couldn''t hurt for trying.

I mean, you guys are the experts and when you google for java programs, all you get back are those link pages that are for windows exe files. It's impossible to just isolate java programs with a google search.

    Thanks anyways
