JRE 6 - enable next generation plugin - JVM hang

While I am running applet in my apllication in Jre 6 update 10 and other latest vesions I am having focus problem and JVM getting hang. If I disable "enble next generation plugin" then it working fine. But client cannot do this about 30,000 machines as his requirement. SO please suggest me any other proggrammatic solution.

I advice you to use web interface as so jsp instead applet, Applet is not used now. This is old technology.

I am hving the requiremet of getting Mac Address of local system. for that I am using java applets

if it's not secret, what is app do you make?
In this way You must install JRE on each machine, where you want to use this applet.

ofcourse but some systems may alredy have older than jre 6 update 10 and some having greater. And it like public site. Here client cannot take care of all machines. So as per my reqiurement if there is no JRE in the local system then it will auto download latest version.

In same way I have used delopyment too kit. And client requirement is not to download from the internet but need to install form the application. here I am runnig the applet using this tool and getting mac Id using javascript and keeping it in a hidden input filed and passing to the application at the time og login.
while invoking jspx page applet running and JVM is hanging and unable to focus the username input box
