need help converting java program into a java applet

My group mates and i made a website running on localhost for our thesis.
our thesis is a text-to-speech dictionary and our text-to-speech application is done in java.

the site is already working(searching from the database and retrieving the definition of the word searched.)

our problem now is how to convert that java program as an applet so that when a user enters a word, a button will appear and when clicked, the button will execute the java program and will read the word entered.

I also am having issues converting my application with a gui into an applet. i have multiple classes and a simple gui. The link was somewhat useful but im still unsure as to what exactly i would have to change to get it to run on a website. Any help would be appritiated
