    Question codebase problem

I have an applet that works just fine as long as the Java class is in the same directory as the HTML page that calls it. When I create a subdirectory and put the Java class in it, the HTML page can't seem to find it. I have used the codebase attribute under the applet tag, which is set to the subdirectory with the Java class.

It appears that codebase doesn't work.

Any clues as to what might be the problem?

I'm running Java 1.5 under Mac OS 10.4.11, and I'm opening the HTML page with the Safari browser.

    Cool More info

The problem I posted appears to have a slightly different nature.

The problem seems to be that after I make changes to the applet and create the new class file, the browser doesn't seem to recognize the changes.

For instance, using the Safari browser under Mac OS 10.4.11, both clearing the cache and resetting the browser has no effect. It is only when I completely restart the browser that the changes to the applet take effect.

The problem does not appear to have anything to do with the codebase attribute.
