Applets with Swing
hi all,
this is my first thread to this forum,hope u all wil help in solving my problem

1. My applet program does not work on any machine other than win98, i'm using swing components for developing my applet. i tried with different browsers,but not working.

2. The applet is getting loaded in the browser but when i click the buttons its not working. My button is a showdialog button

sorry i cant post the code in here since the package is having 20+ files, the thing is this apple tis working in old IE browsers..the only problem is its not working in new browers....please reply...all securities i disabled, java.policy. is changed for low security level,still the problem persists...

I can't help you if you don't send some code to check it
it would be more easier to us if you send it, maybe there is the problem

What version of java were u using?
Maybe it's an incompatibility problem
Were u using the AWT components?

i dont think java.swing works on newer browsers on applets - i found something that sed that while looking up info on signing applets

Some literature i read do said that most of the browsers run on jvm version 1.2 and havent been updated with higher jvm, though, newer browser may have find some way to fix this, since Java itself are quite commonly used

I won't say that it wont work, but i suggest u to check the compatibility of the browsers and the jvm
