sound converter WAV to AU

Hey evrybody... I'm just wondering if anyone knows a good sound converter from WAV to AU? Its kinda hard to find them on the internet and all I keep finding is a bunch of junk. Java only supports the AU format. Does anyone know any good converters? Thanks!

Don't know what you mean by Java only supporting AU. Java SE has built-in support for at least WAV as well, and libraries for MP3 and other compressed formats are not hard to come by.

Java can only read .AU audio files.... as far as I know... I've tried other file types... they don't work

Well I'm glad to know I'm wrong. Now I don't have to pull my hair out when Adobe Audition trial hits 0 and I'm stranded with nothing to convert

I am in the same position as you - I could only get Java to play .au sound files. There is a free version of 'WavePad Sound Editor' available that i found excellent. Easy to edit your sound clips, and it can then save to Sun AU (.au) format and it works perfectly.

Theres loads of places to download it from, just google. Hope this helps.
