Default Convert to JTable, validation, more

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently doing my project and a bit short of time. I'm a really bad programmer and struggling with this. There are some things I need help with and would really appreciate your assistance. Here is my program right now, it's not complete just yet: mediafire.com/download.php?zrkjnmdhduz

    1) Why doesn't the dispose() work in PasswordLogin.java?
    2) I've been told my current way of displaying the accounts and products is messy and should rather convert it to a JTable. Could someone possibly help me with that/do the code and paste it back to me. I looked at the example on this website but failed :/
    3) When deleting an account/product there's no validation if I enter text (and the program crashes). Also if the product/account doesn't exist. What's the best way to implement some kind of validation?
    4) I can't get the order to work. I need to minus the product price off the account balance and lower the product quantity. I've tried a dozen times to get it to work :/
    5) Could someone explain how I could record all the purchases in my access database.

This is currently what I need to do. If there's anything else you guys would recommend me changing/fixing please let me know. I know it sounds like I'm asking for a lot but we were told if we need help with anything we should make use of this forum.

    Thank you.

PS: We've been told we can use other peoples code or get help as long as we fully credit. This is merely a practice homework exercise and not for marks.

    Cross-posted in the forums.sun.com:

Swing - Convert to JTable, validation, more

Please do not cross-post questions in multiple forums. This will frustrate anyone who tries to help you only to find out later that the same answer was given hours ago in a cross-posted thread. For this reason, many volunteers here and at the other sites refuse to help repeat offenders.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware I couldn't post in numerous forums. Can I delete this?

Basically, yes - but pm me the stuff as I want to work on it and would rather get the work accomplished on your project as I can use it in mine.

Cross-posting is almost always a waste of time, for reasons cited ~ this is just luck-out.

Not interested in #5, don't bother me with database idiocy as all it does is bog the machine down, I will be using one I found here for my own work. Do not wish to get involved with the other stuff I have found.

Passwords in general should go into a char array which you wipe before and after use. There is no way to prevent L-2 writebacks from Java so you are on your own on that if this is not a student project.

I'm not cheating. I don't know how I can prove this to you. We have been told to use any internet resource possible. THIS IS NOT BEING MARKED. Why do you think I even referenced the website I took the code from in one of the java files.

I think my pm went through to you, if you get it mark this as SOLVED using nav bar at top. That will be good enough for the cross-post issue.

All data in email to be raw text as code and remarks, no attachments - all comm as text in body of email, up to 10-k of text totally ok for any reason.

Email containing attachments will be deleted without reading.
