One great resource is this article entitled How To Ask Questions The Smart Way. It will tell you how to formulate your questions so that the folks here will be better able to answer them. Good luck.

i'm a newbie in this forum... pardon for my way of asking...

... my real question is that... i have a project in one of my computer science subject... and my professor is requiring us to create a program (either a game or an application)... and i decided that i would make "dama" as my project (sorry for some grammatical errors... peace...) ... i know how the game works... but my problem is that... i don't know how to implement it in java... creating a board is one of my major problems... i don't know how to create one... i need a 10x10 board... that looks like the board in the chess game... and also... one of my problems is that... i don't know how to put pieces on some boxes(just like in the chess game)... please help... thank you...

Please read my link. Your initial question had no significant grammatical or language problems. It just wasn't answerable, and to my eyes, so is your current post. You are asking very general broad questions, questions that are very hard to answer given the time and space constraints of this forum, and given that we as volunteers shouldn't be expected to replace your first searching for solutions via Google, tutorials, and your texts.

For instance, to create a game board, and place pieces on this board you first have to study how to draw graphics in Java. The best place to start is the Sun Graphics tutorials (Google for this). It will likely answer most of your questions and then some.

First you will need to find out if your project is not too big for you given your current class level and your time limitations. To answer this, why not have a talk with your teacher?

Next you will need to break your big problem into little problems and attack each small problem, one at a time, do some diligent searching in Google, texts, tutorials, etc, ... You will need to make some big decisions (Swing vs AWT vs SWT vs?, stand-alone vs applet, ...) then come back if you still have questions, understanding that the more specific the question, the better your chances are of getting a decent answer.

    Good luck!
