    Exclamation java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

    Hi people out there,

    I need your guys help

    I got the following error:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/documentum/fc/common/DfException
    at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredConstructors0(Native Method)
    at java.lang.Class.privateGetDeclaredConstructors(Unk nown Source)
    at java.lang.Class.getConstructor0(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Unknown Source)
    at sun.applet.AppletPanel.createApplet(Unknown Source)
    at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createApplet(Unknown Source)
    at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source)
    at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

    when i try to call (invoke) a applet from jsp

    Source code to invoke the applet
    <applet codebase = "../test"
    code = "test.class"
    name = "testDoc"
    width = "450"
    height = "550"
    hspace = "0"
    vspace = "0"
    align = "middle"
    >
    <param name="ARCHIVE" value="test.jar">
    <b>Fail to generate the Applet out</b>
    </applet>

    The problem is that when i build the applet(in java project), it works prefectly good and when it is invoke in the JSP, i got the error.

    It seem like it cannot find those package(jar file) that i use for the applet.

    How do I put the jar file into eclipse. I try to go to the project properties --> Build java file --> add exernal libraries to add the jar file. But no use.

    Thanks :)

    Default

    If the jvm needs a class that is in a jar file.
    Is the browser asking for the jar file? Check valid HTML
    Is the server able to find the jar file? Check jar file location

    Hi Norm,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have added the jar files in the Jre/lib/ext, It shows the applet. But I have encounter another problem.

    The problem is that when building the applet (in java project of the eclipse). I have added some additional properties and etc files.

    I am following link to build my applet (building Documentum stuff):
    dmnotes.wordpress.com/2007/10/10/configuring-eclipse-for-dfc-projects/
    (need to add http in the front as the forum prevent mefrom sending a link)

    When create an web project(also eclipse and web server is weblogic) where should I place all the dmconfig files at.

    Thanks

    How are they being read? If you are reading them from the applet, you could put them in the jar file with the class files and use getResourceAsStream() to read them.

    I have no idea what a dmconfig file is.
