2D strategy game or 2D war game
hello folks,
this is my first message in this community, i know, but i would like to have some ideas about this subject. I will be graduating in next year, february and i am planning to take a 2 term graduation project on java. What i am thinking for this is a 2D strategy game or 2D war game. Since I will have this project by myself only, i am anxious about the completion process of this project.
I don't want to do some JDBC job or simple client-server thing, but i want to deal with those graphical things.
So if there are any ideas or sources for me, i will be glad if you share.
Thanks to all,

It's great that you know where you want to go... before I go on I have a question:
- Do you know the basics of Java?
Now a couple of comments:
- Gaming sw is pretty complex (I'm assuming that 2D is a little easier) and involves a lot of programming knowledge and algorithms.
- The way the economy is, just be aware that you might not land in the gaming industry from the begining.
Not trying to be pesamistic... just realistic :-)
Luck and go for it,
CJSLChris S.

First of all, thank you for your reply.
I am programming with JAVA since two years. I haven't done any project on game programming, just some parts of a simple mobile game. Since I have one year from now, I think i can do some good work with JAVA.
after those things are known, i hope you may be some more expressive in terms of this subject.
Thanks.

2D link
hhhmmm... not sure how that was meant (I'll take it kindly). My suggestion would to start to purchase a good Java 2D book and start with the following link:i hope you may be some more expressive in terms of this subject
Trail: 2D Graphics (The Java™ Tutorials)
I'll confess that I'm not into java graphics... but I'm sure that you'll find plenty of help on this forum. If I can help in any other way, I'll try.
Luck,
CJSLChris S.
