You have to use swing, to develop the UI part of the application. So it's better to do some examples first before doing much.
And also your question is not specific, I don't think that anyone can understand it clearly. You are the person who knows what exactly want to.

Swing is the collection which is used to develop GUI based applications in Java. There you can find large number of packages. Fubarable gives the link to sun swing tutorial. To start just go through all examples and get an idea about swing. It's really helpful to you in future.
