Hey everyone!
Hey all,
I can't tell you how pleased I am that I came across this forum. A friend of mine and I just started taking java courses, and while it's extremely exciting (we have a bit of HTML experience) we're finding it quite difficult at times.
I really hope you're up to the task of helping us out -- that would be extremely appreciated!
Alright guys, think that's it. So thanks again, and I hope to be an asset to the community

Hehe yeah I bet. I just got the feel that sun's place is more techie-oriented... there has to be room for caring and chit-chatting as well haha ;)
Alright, i'll stop talking now. Don't wanna keep you in my welcome thread any longer. Take care and i'll see you all around!

I find this true too.. I visit there quite often and if I had any hand in their forum matters I would suggest for them to upgrade their forum's level of usability. Java Forums is simply very fast, search engine friendly and easy to navigate- not to mention the number of features we have here that the Sun forums don't have.
If there's one thing I would question here, solely because I have yet to see any statistical data to back it up, is the slogan "The Largest Java Community".... I know of a few other forum sites centered on software development.. not necessarily Java, but nevertheless are extremely active.... Granted, our community is still growing and I would love for it to really have the largest... but if it's pretty new... how can it be the largest? We have great people here- so maybe something like "The Friendliest Java Community" would make more sense to me, maybe even... "A Java Development Community", although I don't know how this would fly because another forum is named for also being very friendly, and the one I'm referring to is another I can't stand visiting because their user interface is worse than Sun's, in my opinion.
