Hello everyone. My name is Javadude, and I am a programmer. I would consider myself to be a bit above intermediate, but not quite expert. I can code a GUI with my eyes closed, and can write a medium sized application in a few hours, but I know I still have a lot to learn. I love Java. It's quite a powerful language, and I would love to learn more.
I'm a college student, majoring in New Media (graphic/web design, video production, etc.). Even though programming isn't my focus in college (mine's more art than anything, really), I still love programming, and I'm planning on pursuing my Master's degree in Computer Science one of these days (as soon as I finish my other degrees). I'm what many would consider a "professional student", I suppose. There are just so many things I'm interested in, and I can't make up my mind as to what I want to do when I "grow up", so to speak. I suppose I want to do a little of everything. Why must I confine myself to one specialization? The agony...
Anywho, I'm new to the forum here, so I figured I'd introduce myself and maybe meet some new friends. I'm definitely interested in working on a project of some sort. I'd love to get involved with an open source project. If anyone knows of any open source Java projects in need of some volunteers, let me know. I'd love to get involved.
Alright, I'm done talking for now.
