New to Java, but not to programming
I am a part time college student learning Java. I have been in the IT field for over 25 years performing a wide range of tasks. They run from computer operator to hardware maintenance to programming and some light system administration. I have programmed for a while in C and Visual Basic so picking up Java hasn't been too difficult so far. After all, I am only a month into my first semester of it. I will probably end up mostly lurking here since I don't have enough knowledge to help anyone else out yet and I hope that I won't have too many questions of my own to post. I hope to learn a lot here and it hopefully will fit in nicely with my classroom instruction.

Hello Keith, and welcome to the java-forums.org! I think I speak for all in saying that we look forward to seeing you around here. By the way, you were never a college football TV sportscaster in another life, were you?
