Welcome to our community.
I hope you find what you're looking for here, and if you don't - just ask.
edit: Is this forums dead/cold or something?
I'm curious why you say this? Your post is timed at about 1.5 hours before my post. That's not all that bad for an introductions post.
Let's not forget where you are in the world - when others may be sleeping due to their time zones you may be awake, something to keep in mind.
You will be helped in time and if your thread gets cold, just
bring it up again. I know that in other forums they posts like 5 posts a minute, but I guess that Java is not that a popular hobby.
By bringing it up again we mean to post back to your original thread with a
bump, moving it to the top of the posted lists. Unless the forum is real busy, no bump is usually necessary - otherwise follow the rule of 1 bump approximately every 4 hours or greater. Posting another thread with the same topic and content is against forum policy, known as
double posting, thus bumping is more appropriate.
Java can be a very popular hobby - for programmers.

Let's also not forget that our particular site is more specialized in that we primarily focus on the Java language alone(hence the name), rather than all the languages like some forums do.
