    Total noob here but I'm hoping to get into the world of programming and heard Java is the best place to start. So I decided to check it out and see how it goes. I hope to find alot of help on these forums and lots of learning experiences.

    I don't necessarily think java is the best place to start, however; it is certainly a fine starting point. Check out the 'book recommendations' link in my sig.
