Hi, Java Forums.

My name is Harvey and I'm an amateur Java developer from Australia. Recently, I've decided to get into Java, as programming is a love of mine and I know that Java is an industry-standard language. I'd like to pursue a career in Java.

To tell you all a bit about myself, I'm fifteen years of age and I'm currently studying in high school. I play representative volleyball and basketball and I'm currently training in the Volleyball Australia Elite Development Program. So, my time is broken into volleyball and computers, basically.

I've got a bit of experience in VB.Net and in Delphi, and of course Java. I know that Java is considered to be one of the more difficult languages but I also know that if you're good at it, you can make a lot of money. Recently, I've dedicated all of my time to learning Java and getting the best possible start on a Java career. I want to do a course in university on Computer Science and some form of programming degree also.

I've also created a blog at 'Java Progress Log' and I intend on updating it with my new found knowledge after I've completed the current tutorial series I'm currently watching.

I wanted to join a forum because I have a passion for forums, and I thought that it'd be the best thing to assist my learning. If I have any questions or if I'm not sure about something, I'll be posting here. Hopefully, when my knowledge is more immense, I'll be able to give back to the community and help some of you out with your queries.

If you have any questions or if you'd like to chat, you can send me an e-mail or contact me via MSN. I'm looking forward to getting to know a lot of you.

Thanks,
Harvey
