    Hi Zax,

    Welcome..

I think the best free general Java resource is Java tutorial from Sun:

    The Java™ Tutorials

If you have previous programming experience, you can start reading it and have a broad understanding on the topic. I think you will learn better from the course if you have read it.

And there are also very good Java books if you would like to read.

I'll recommend Java head First book, see if u can find the soft copy of it. Learning java from that book would be fun..take my word for it.

Ok thanks people for your advice but ive been reading through some of these areas and im still unsure with regards to the words variable, arguments, methods and say statements what do you recommend to understand what they mean and where and when there needed when trying to write your own programme.

    Cheers ZAX
